Our Facility


Vedic Architecture
Our facility lies immediately adjacent to our farm and is a state-of-the-art 36,000 sq. ft. operation housing the production phase of our business. The building was constructed in 1997 from Stapathjavedic architectural design principles of building in harmony with nature.

Healthy Building Environment for Strong Support of Nature
Non-toxic construction materials were used to every extent possible with full spectrum lighting and ozone enriched air circulation and ventilation. The building has a vastu placement on the property and sits at the highest elevation on our land facing due east with all necessary vastelements considered for success and harmony in our operations.

Operating in GMP Compliant Production Facility
When a new extract batch is made to satisfy demand, we generate a new production batch record following FDA cGMP-compliant processes which assure that all equipment and utensils are cleaned and sterilized, all production work steps are performed according to standard operating procedures, and all product quality specifications are met.

State of the Art In-House Research Facilities
Within our facility, we operate a state-of-the-art quantitative and qualitative QC and R&D laboratory. Our lab is staffed with Ph.D natural products chemists and horticultural scientists, a pharmacognosist, a microbiologist, statisticians, and several lab technicians.

 
Ecologically Harvested is a term that describes all herbs sold by Gaia Herbs that are not Certified Organic. Ecologically Harvested herbs include herbs that are harvested in their natural habitat, (i.e., wild harvested) according to specific guidelines for harvesting these herbs (i.e., away from roads and industry, as well as guidelines to avoid overharvesting). Our term, Ecologically Harvested, also includes herbs that are grown in managed woodland areas, fields designated for specific herbs, and herbs that are grown by indigenous growers, such as Kava Kava. All Ecologically Harvested herbs pass pesticide and heavy metal testing as well as microbial testing, prior to release.
